Importance of toecap in the safety footwear

All safety shoes or work boots must have a safety toecap to avoid foot injuries by falling materials or heavy pieces preventing crushing and/or entrapment, shoes that do not have the safety cap for toes are not considered safe.

According to the Spanish Standard EN 12568, the safety footwear is the one that incorporates elements to protect the user from injuries that may cause accidents. Safety footwear that must be equipped with safety toecaps, designed to offer protection against impact, when tested with an energy level of at least 200 Joules and against compression when tested with a load of compression of at least 15,000 N.

It should be noted that footwear that does not have a toecap is not considered as safety footwear, it is therefore important to know the risks associated with daily work and choose the most appropriate shoes to the area requirements to ensure physical health and integral of the workers.

All the models of Sicura footwear have impact resistant safety toecaps of 200 Joules and compression of 15,000 N, complying with international standards. Our footwear can be manufactured with steel, aluminum and composite toecaps.
